• Can I transfer my domain from existing host provider to Amcom?

  Yes, it's free to transfer.

• Do I need DNS hosting?

  DNS hosting for a particular domain is essential as it holds a list of services operating on a domain and the corresponding IP address of where these services can be found on the internet. Such services include web servers, Email servers, any other services such as FTP servers, and Aliases to other services.

• Can I use Content Management Systems such as Joomla or Wordpress with Amcom Hosting?

  Yes. Our Hosting platform support both PHP and MySQL. Joomla and Wordpress have been tested to work on our servers.

• How can I manage a MySQL database hosted by Amcom?

  We provide our hosting customers access to PHPMyAdmin to administer their assigned MySQL Database. Upon signup, the database username/password will be provided to you.

  PHPMyAdmin can also be used to backup/restore an entire MySQL database. This is useful when transferring from a different Hosting Provider.

• What is a 'Domain Mirror'?

  Essentially a 'Domain Mirror' offers you the ability to duplicate an existing website hosted by Amcom. For instance if you have a .com.au website which you want to point your .com website, this can be done using a 'Domain Mirror'.

  The same is true for ‘Email Mirror’. With the same scenario, of a .com.au email pointing to the same .com inbox. E.g. bob@mydomain.com.au can be pointed to bob@mydomain.com.

  For Web and Email mirror to work, the web server and Incoming email server for both domains MUST be hosted by Amcom.
